A little about me
Living the Musical Theatre Life at Interlochen
One Chassé at a Time
I’m Sarah Genne — a teen actor, singer, and dancer currently training in musical theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy. I am passionate about bringing stories to life on stage and feel incredibly fortunate to have appeared in a wide range of productions from beloved Golden-Age musicals to bold, original works that stretch my imagination. The stage has always felt like home to me. A place where creativity, teamwork, and big emotions all collide.
Whether I’m singing a Golden-Age Classic, tapping through a new routine, or diving into a character monologue, I love the challenge of finding honest moments and connecting with audiences through performance. I enjoy the fast pace of improv and helping my friends with choreography. I love collaborating with friends who are just as passionate as I am. Musical theatre brings together all the things I enjoy — expression, physicality, music, and meaning — and I’m constantly inspired by the artists I work with and the stories we get to tell.
When I’m not in rehearsal or class, you’ll probably find me reading, listening to music, missing my cats (who are back home in DC), or learning something new just for fun! Whether I’m performing or just soaking up new experiences, I find I’m always growing as an artist, collaborator, and person.
“Sarah delivered a powerful, funny, and grounded performance as B and Callie. She took the space with her physical and vocal presence and stayed fully rooted in her given circumstances, with connected listening and responding. Bravo, Sarah!”
